'Prudent Practices for Pricey Times' Women's Event
Ladies, mark your calendars for this helpful event brought to you by our Refresh women's ministry, coming up Friday night, Jan. 26, at 6:30, in Building C. Come join us for this practical, prudent teaching led by our own Jane Stefanowicz. This will be a continuation or "Part 2" of teaching from last year, that includes discussion on things like household budgeting, practical shopping tips, how to get the best deals, meal planning and prep, how to stretch your dollar and how to "go green" to save some green.
If you were with us last year for Part I, you know you don't want to miss this! It was so beneficial and gave us so many useful, practical ideas for real life. If you missed last year, no worries! This can also be a stand alone session so being at the first session is NOT a requirement for attending Part 2! There is no cost, but sign-up is required. Plan to bring along a snack to share. Coffee will be provided. For more details, contact Refresh women's ministry coordinator Nan Letson.

RE:GROUP
It's almost time to "Regroup!" Small groups are such an important part of the discipleship ministry of our church; we often say that small groups are "where church happens" at Shelby Crossings. These groups meet in homes around the Shelby County area each week for Bible study, prayer and fellowship. Many of our groups have been taking some time off during the summer, but we are planning to get all of our groups back to full speed for the fall--and hopefully start a few new ones--during our annual ReGroup, coming up on Wednesday night, Aug. 23.
ReGroup is a time when we gather together as a church body for a night of refocusing our vision and re-organizing our groups for the year ahead. If you have been active in a group in the past, or if you've never been in a small group before, we hope you can be with us for this important time. Also, in preparation for our ReGroup, if you would be interested in hosting or leading a group in the fall, please let Pastor Ken know.
Here are the details: we will gather in the Worship Center (Bldg. B) from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. for a fun and encouraging time of "regrouping" for the year ahead. ReGroup will take the place of your regular midweek small groups that night. Our KidJam ministry for elementary-age children will restart for the school year on that same night, and childcare will also be provided for preschoolers. And of course, our Youth Group will be available for junior and senior high students.
ReGroup Wednesday Night Dinner - Our "Refresh" women's ministry will host a dinner for families on that Wednesday night, from 5:30 to 6:15, in Building C. It will be a great chance to meet new friends and visit with those you know about the table, and will also serve as a fund-raiser for their women's retreat next spring. The dinner will be in Building C, and the menu will be pizza, salad, dessert and drink. The cost will be $5 per person, with a $20 family max.
Family Dedication
We will have a special time of family dedication for parents and their little ones on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 8 during our morning worship services. If you are the parent of a child who has never been publicly dedicated to the Lord and would like to participate, or if you know someone who would like to take part in this service, please contact preschool minister Tara Murphy.
Easter Sunday
He is risen! Make plans to join your friends and family at Shelby Crossings for a great morning of worship as we celebrate the resurrection of our risen Lord Jesus together on Easter Sunday, April 17. We will have our regular schedule of two worship services, at 9:00 and 10:30, with Life Groups and children's activities simultaneous to our worship. Invite your friends to join us.
Twas the Morning of Easter StoryWalk
Parents, plan to bring your families for this interactive "storywalk" experience that guides you and your children through the incredible events of Easter morning on the Saturday morning before Easter, April 16, from 10 am to 12 noon. As you visit each station you will explore a new part of the story and collect a small token to help your family remember the significance. There will be plenty of surprises along the way so we hope you will make plans to take this 20 minute walk-through.
Good Friday Service
You are invited to a special Good Friday communion service at The Church at Shelby Crossings on Friday night, April 15, at 6:00 p.m. Join us as we remember and reflect on the death of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross on that day, in preparation for the celebration of His resurrection on Easter Sunday, April 17. We will also share the Lord's Supper together during the service. Please note: this service will be "family worship" and there will be no childcare or children's activities provided. We are also planning to livestream the service on our regular platforms (Facebook, YouTube and our church website).
Men's Fellowship Breakfast
Guys, our deacons will be hosting a Men’s Fellowship Breakfast on Saturday, April 9, at 8:00 a.m., in Building C. Mark your calendars and plan to join us.
We'll enjoy some good food, good fellowship and hear a challenge from God's word. We will also discuss some other Men's ministry events for the months ahead. Donations will be received to cover the cost of the breakfast.
